Sorry I was being too conservative in my statement of 100um to 300um thickness range of final silicon. Today the number is getting close to 25-50um !

This 2006 abstract talks of 150um thickness going to 50um.

Bohr is probably referring to the next generation technology and not historical thickness.

The post by Pete missed the differences in Thermal conductivity as well. Even based using Margarthea conservative estimate of Thermal conductivity( using the undoped silicon number) Pete is off by a factor of several hundred in estimating the difference in temperature rise.
