If Saudi intervenes on the side of the Sunnis

This is the part that I find sort of hard to understand. My understanding of Saudis is similar to what you wrote, overweight, welfare-state sacks that boss around their low wage maid and driver while they sip tea, eat shwarma, and discuss the Koran. How do you take that collection of obese chair sitters and give them a gun and send them off to fight for the Sunnis in Iraq? Maybe they could hire and send in Sudanese mercenaries, but the idea of a ferocious Saudi army doesn't quite ring true from my understanding of their people.

It's like saying the people of Monaco are going to invade Germany - it aint gonna happen.
