The supply chain software that combines shipping for freight discounts may change on a daily basis, so that revenue can grow without warning. One software module was obsoleted with a write off of about $100 million.

Supply chain can also do production quantity discounts from suppliers by benchmarking more often.

The future is unlimited in sales. But software production needs to be lean and mean, with bare minimum for redundancy and plenty of quality control to avoid the previous write off.

Market making is now more difficult because of lack of discussion between investors and market makers. Trading is done by the push of a key or click of a mouse. The old fashioned market making will come back to have more guidance. That guidance is how CMGI may be a $100 stock again?
