Did you see that the top speed of the TGV is 346 mph?

For a test run, I think with no cars (or very few) and no passengers. Still 200 mph on passenger carrying runs on the new line is somewhat impressive.

I wonder how much the French government has to spend on this project.


Only what it cost to upgrade the track and road crossings. The innovative work for the trains themselves was down at least 20 years ago. The new line is just the latest expansion of a system that has been in place for a long time.
