Congress isn't a criminal investigation agency. They investigate a lot of stuff. Oversight is their job.

re: Clinton fired a much larger number of prosecutors for political reasons. And like Bush he had every right to do so. The Republicans might have complained at the time, but they did little more than that.

There is a less than subtle difference. Every President puts in people from their own party. But if there is an appearance that the admin is either trying to derail or instigate corruption prosecutions then it may be 'obstructing justice', not in the legal sense of the term.

Congress has the right and obligation to look into it.
