Z, > I simply don't understand why on nearly all of Amtrak's trains in the Northeast are slower than driving... Unlucky? A train ride from D.C. to NYC is just under 3 hours. By car it takes 4-5 hours depending on traffic, especially with all of the toll booths along the way. Maybe Albany just isn't that big of an Amtrak hub. Tenchusatsu
