A personal experience------had a back injury years ago.

We were to baby sit(dog sit) a beautiful grey doberman named Bart. Bart was large about 90 pounds.

Just before Bart came I had a back injury and did not want to disappoint my friends who had a vacation scheduled.

Doc told me to lie down flat on my back for two weeks and if I were lucky I could avoid back surgery. Did so with Bart taking up his watch beside of me. Bart never left my bedside except to eat and go out.

Bart's head was huge------I would wake up and Bart would be sitting beside the bed with his head lying on the bed looking at me.

As I started to become mobile Bart walked with me always there. Gradually I got better and avoided back surgery and Bart went home--------3 weeks with Bart.

If a dog has a spirit Bart had one.

Had a friend who did just what you are proposing with her dog. It was great for her, her dogs and the patients.
