It's clear that only small-minded people try to put people in small boxes by labeling them.
Did you notice that when I posted my stances on a number of issues, no one responded to that post? It's almost impossible to call me a Democrat and equally impossible to say I'm a Republican. In fact, the only thing anyone can say for sure is that I'm like most Americans. My beliefs span both parties. Having said that, I do lean pretty decisively to the right, yet morons like longnshort call me a liberal, meaning he thinks I'm a Democrat. What ignorance.
Two things.........with people like shortie, you have to agree with him on every issue 100%. If you don't, then you must be a liberal.
Secondly, the GOP has so confused and distorted the picture of what a liberal is, that its become a curse word in this country. However, what I am finding out is that its the liberals who are good at the things the GOP claims to be the expert. More importantly, because their image has been so mucked up, liberals seem to try harder to do a better job.
One thing for certain Bush has forced me to reexamine my values and to know where I stand on the issues. It makes me more partisan [in a general way, as opposed to preferring one party over another] but then maybe that can't be helped. No more will I tolerate people who are not honest, not competent, not fiscally responsible no matter to what party they belong. |
