Crescent Gold joins the producer ranks Source: Associated Press metalsplace.com Gold miner Crescent Gold Ltd has joined the ranks of the producers after pouring the first gold bar from its Laverton project in Western Australia. Mining at the project started earlier this month and Crescent is expected to produce about 90,000 ounces of gold annually over the next five years. The Laverton mine is located 250km northeast of Kalgoorlie and is located close to Barrick Gold Corp's Wallaby and Anglogold Ashanti Ltd's Sunrise Dam gold mines. Crescent also holds uranium projects in the Northern Territory and iron oxide, copper and gold interests in South Australia.
