JCP, let me put it this way. Rich retirees with the "means" obviously don't need SS checks for their retirement. But should they get the checks anyway?

After all, they've paid their dues into the system while they were working, just like everyone else. If Social Security is to honor ALL of its obligations, it should do so without regard to "means."

Otherwise, you're just dishonoring the obligations to those who are deemed too "rich" to rely on them.
