doctors routinely kill patients due to medical error Don't be too hard on the doctors...they are victims of the same system as the patients. The HMO's that you describe are run by administrators, not doctors, and the HMO structure has effectively ruined medicine as the loss of unions ruined the manufacturing sector. I left pre-med in college as I got closer to graduation...didn't want to be a slave to the insurance structure. I sincerely believe most doctors enter their profession with the intention to help patients, not get bogged down by the patient assembly line just to pay the bills..... Regards, WIJ
