If everything was legal, let them testify under oath with transcripts behind closed doors. No show trial, but all the info will be out there. The idea of disallowing transcripts of behind closed door testimony, under oath or not, is just weird.

No so wierd, unfortunately. If Waxman's committee is acting in bad faith - and whipping up a show trial about this nothing is not an indication of good faith - then any discrepancies in testimony under oath are enough to get perjury investigations going, with a large contingent of Dems cheering them on because Karl Rove "deserves it" and shouldn't have been allowed to "get off" in the Plamegate investigation, facts notwithstanding.

They have really left behind the pretence that there needs to have been a crime committed. Just give them testimony under oath, and they will manufacture the crime.
