I wondered whether I would draw any flak on that. What I'm referring to is an article in the current (9/29) issue of LanTimes. On page 30 it states, "Although Microsoft originally envisioned Windows NT Workstation 4.0 as the corporate desktop client, many managers could not afford client upgrades to NT 4.0 -- either because of hardware or applications incompatibilities -- and were forced to either stick with Windows 3.x or upgrade to Windows 95." It then refers to another article, starting at page 37 of the same issue, which says (at page 44), "IDC research also shows that NT Workstation accounted for only 3 percent of the OSes on new PCs last year -- 1 percent less than the relatively ancient, command-line-driven DOS."

There's lots more, and I commend it to you.

JMHO.
