There isn't any evidence of serious wrongdoing (even legal wrongdoing) for congress to investigate. The prosecutors serve at the will of the administration. Congress doesn't set policy for the prosecutors, and without any evidence of wrongdoing there isn't anything for them to oversea.


There is a less than subtle difference. Every President puts in people from their own party.


Clinton was the only one to get rid of all the old prosecutors.

And the privilege of the president to dismiss the old attorneys isn't limited to people identified with the other party.
