Data 1 files for Chapter 11 protection

SARASOTA, Fla., Oct 2 (Reuters) - Data 1 Inc, a supplier to the computer industry, said Thursday it filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Banruptcy Code on September 24.

Data 1 officials were not immediately available to comment on the filing.

The company's stock was trading at $0.0375 on Nasdaq's bulletin board, down $0.0025.
