<To all: A serious question: Wcom's affect on Asnd.>

At this time Wcom offer for MCI means nothing. I like the idea better than BT buying MCI. But it may never happen. I'm not sure WCOM can actually pull it off? I expect you will see other offers from different companies for MCI and they will consider them. EDIT: Just picked this up, its in reference to above:http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/97/10/02/bfpt_bty_1.html

If the merger did happen, that would be good for Ascend because WCOM could expand and improve their internet services, especially to businesses. Also w/ MCI's fiber optics network they would be bypassing the baby Bells phone lines as I understand it. So UUNET will still be buying product from ASND either way. But if it did happen maybe more in 1999....nothing would happen fast enough to effect ASND short term.
But is is effecting stocks like LU.

Just want to mention...I saw a post on the BAY thread, of them speculating about a possible Bay buyout of ASND. Think about it?

It would take a little time to answer your question responsively, and more then a little research.
