Hence I've always said, "Let's try and make cold fusion work." Of course, once we do, we're going to discover how its byproducts affect the environment, and people will once again bemoan our reliance on cheap energy.

I have read a comparative anectode (admittedly I have not done the math) that if 7% of Arizona was covered by PV cells there'd be enough power for the entire US. More practically, the roof of every home in the country is a potential generating station. This problem is solvable...peacefully.
