The prepared remarks of three presenters in the ITC Commission hearing are now online. Based on a quick-scan, all three advocate blocking importation of downstream products, mainly 1xEV-DO handsets. Wilkie, executive director of Center for Communications Law and Policy, USC Karen J. Norton etal, investigative attorney of Office of Unfair Import Investigations (OUII) edisweb.usitc.gov To the credit of the OUII, they do not recommend blocking importation of handsets which are programmed to not infringe, IOW when the power-saving feature is disabled. Warning: Reading these three presentations will probably not give you a warm-and-fuzzy feeling.
