<<I bet I can get the Osage Orange or hickory. What else do you need?>>

A younger man to make it. Our club had a guy who worked at a place that sold bows. A good one would come out and we'd borrow one. Trace the contours and make a form. Figure out what pull we wanted and order the fiberglass and maple. Make the handle, then lay fiberglass on the form, add glue, then the maple and glue, then the handle, it had to be tapered out so thin you could see through it, more glue, maple, more glue then the last fiberglass. Wrap the whole thing with bands made from inner tubes and cook in a boiler room for a week. Then cut it loose and sand, sand, sand. Gotta get everything even.

Osage Orange. Used to use it for hedges around here. Dollar went to shit around 1974 and the Japanese bought soy beans like a lotto winning alky buys booze. Land prices soared and hedges were torn out to get more acres which the price of went to hell the next year. Big losers were the pheasants, used to take a one hour drive after a snow and see 300 of them. I haven't seen one in 10 years.
