Solar power is expensive no matter how you put it. Try doing the math and figuring out how much it would cost to manufacture 7980 square miles of solar cells. That's over 222 billion square feet. The problem is not money, it is capacity. Thin-film amorphous photovoltaics are being produced on continuous form sheet processes. The same materials are being made into roofing shingles.
