That reminds me of Themosticles, the statesman and naval commander who saved Athens and possibly directed the war of which Leonidas became immortalized - (most recently, the movie, 300). Had Greece not been a democracy, its best, most brilliant person of the time would never have had the op to rise above his station. It bugs me that in these times of purported enlightenment and freedom, a substandard subhuman cretin has become our leader because of "noblesse oblige." His "no child left behind" has had the opposite effect. SAT standards for scoring have been recently lowered again.
