I think AMD's process weakness will get in the way of achieving its design goals. To me that aspect is the whole issue of whether AMD will survive as a meaningful competitor to Intel or not. Since Q1 results last year, I have posted that I think AMD's fab 36 is not working well. There is simply no significant increase in AMD's output after it came into operation. If this problem is not solved, AMD's manufacturing operation will not survive, no matter how much money they raise.
