i wonder what that would do to auto industry, i assume huge investments to retool, we would have to accept down sized cars, much lighter cars. and perhaps a lot more expensive car if it had to use special metals to make cars lighter but safe.

How long before we get there.?

oh, then the public would have to buy these cars.. if gasoline prices came down at all public would leave them sitting in the lots like they did in 80's .

I wonder how long it would take to get all gas hogs off the road. mine is 1997 gets 18 mpg.. it has 77,000 miles on it i travel maybe 3000 miles a year. i expect to keep it another twenty years.
