Also Vietnam was a complicated set of circumstances that brought us to war, which is usually the case when it comes to war, not ONE INDIVIDUAL or ideology that drove the whole misadventure as is the case in Iraq.

The problem with Iraq is that our checks and balances (media and minor party) fell apart. That was the real problem for me. Bush is a failure but anybody could see he was an idiot. Our system should have saved us from this and didnt.
