Re: "And sometimes adults make bad decisions on how to live."

Of course. (The 'freedom to be stupid' is perhaps the ultimate guarantee of personal freedom from government control....) But, who are you (or I) to judge someone else's life?

Re: "I hope (in fact I believe) Edwards will make a different decision when times get tougher."

If it is his WIFE'S decision too, then I stand by their right to live how they want to. (How we face death, which is inevitable for everyone, is an important measure of what we are 'made of'.)

And, I understand that his family has 'faced' the seriousness of death more then once already (the sudden death of their son, the initial diagnosis of cancer several years ago....) So, perhaps their decision of how they want to proceed with their lives is a bit BETTER FOUNDED then most might be, under the circumstances. (They have certainly had much 'opportunity' for reflection in the family about these matters.)

I'd argue that 'running and hiding' has few advantages... (except for any of his political opponents who might wish for that. :-)
