Bush has gone way beyond the authorization to protect the United States and uphold the UN agreements. That's all been done in spades.

What Bush wanted to do was secure the oil. There were no UN resolutions for that, and clearly the security of the US does not hinge on what happens in Iraq, especially at this point.

Therefore the limited authority granted by the congress has been superceded by this continuing occupation of Iraq.

Time to pack em up and bring em home.
