No really. We produce more than enough oil to run our military. Also "the oil producing countries" include such countries as Canada and Mexico who are unlikely to cut us off.

If you mean the Gulf countries any disruption of their supply would make oil much more expensive, which would in turn make our military operations more expensive, but it wouldn't shut them down or make the military powerless/useless.


And you object when I claim the US has become a militaristic society. Look at what you consider to be most important element should the oil producing nations fail to share their oil with us.
