The irony is that Rove's manic drive to create an unassailable partisan conservative majority at all levels of government and the electorate, flamed out precisely because it was more obsessed with politics than policy or ethics. Most zealot movements carry the seeds of their own destruction in the end. People with partisan blinkers on can't run a diversified country, society or electorate. Just doesn't work.
