We aren't breathing the same pollution, which gets scrubbed out or simply falls out well before it reaches NZ from Beijing. Most of it anyway.

You can simply look at the air in Beijing, where the sun sets on a sunny day about 30 degrees above the horizon - a big red ball sinking behind the muck. In NZ, you will be blinded by the light until the sun is safely down to horizon level.

In NZ, the government now only pays for treatment to "keep you alive until the cheque book can be prised from your grasp". I think most people now pay for their own medical expenses for most things. Otherwise, it's a huge waiting list and delay.

Even if the government did pay all medical and other expenses, the fact that they choose to pay for damaged melons doesn't mean people should be obligated to follow dopey instructions by those choosing to pay, or more precisely, those choosing to force other people to pay.

You call it stupid to not wear a helmet on a bicycle. But I doubt you wear a helmet when walking. I am inventing a fashionable new helmet and hope to have it become a legal requirement to wear one at all times. We can't be too safe you know and plenty of people damage their melon by the simple action of falling off their feet. Safety is vital. You can't put a price on human life. Insert other safety cliches and mindless slogans here.

Please send me a cheque for US$50 and I'll ship you the first Qwash helmet. Rhymes with crash. Please ask Canada to make it a legal requirement while in a standing position to wear a Qwash helmet [or equivalently safe helmet].

You don't want to be stupid like all those Chinese riding bicycles in Beijing.

Do you know that more people are brain injured or skull pained while NOT riding a bicycle than riding one? We need SAFE communities. Order a Qwash today. Bulk orders get a discount, so ask if you need a lot.

Stop being stupid.
