I have noticed that DNA testing is a political divide. A LOT of people don't like the whole idea of DNA testing at all.
<The Hans won't let Europeans test the DNA of the mummies of Urumchi, it's like a mania, "we were here first."
The Brits say, "look at these red-headed mummies with round eyes, beaky noses, plaid clothes, they're part of our far-traveling clan." >
Since DNA is absolutely nothing but a fact, and facts are ipso facto value-free, I don't see any reason for DNA not to be available for public viewing. Having established the facts, we can then argue about what we should do about those facts.
A face is available for public viewing and that is nothing more than an inaccurate representation of DNA.
The divide between those in favour of knowledge about DNA and those against is the old divide between those of a secretive, kleptocratic suffocatocracy nature in support of chimpoid tribal dominance hierarchy societies based on found wealth, [these days meaning the wealth created by other people], and modern humans of Libertarian thinking based on facts and reason.
Incidentally, it's funny that TJ thinks he and China should confiscate Taiwan, whereas New Zealand is actually closer related than China [other than due to invasion in recent times by China - Japan has good claim on such a basis]. A DNA test of a local Maori [say my cousin's children] and Tobago Jack would show that TJ has little in common with Taiwanese, but my cousin's children are direct descendants.
I think I am more closely related to my cousin's children than is TJ. Therefore, Casus Belli, ipso facto, ultra vires, he and Hu Jintao had better keep their cotton pickin' paws offa Taiwan.
Go on TJ. Take the DNA challenge!
When TJ says history is everything, he means just the right amount of history. Not too much of it! And not all the details of it. Just the parts which suit him. I prefer the future, by far, to history. History is a waste of time [more or less]. I was threatened with a beating with a stick by a Hungarian thug called "Mr Robi" if I continued to refuse to learn "History" and "Geography" as forced on innocent children at Onehunga High School.
