What I read, and it may just be alarmist populism, is that on a summer day the temperature at the pump may well be over 80F, vs the 60F standard. Conversely we get a break in winter, though not as much as Vermonters.

I agree that given the underground storage at service stations, 80F seems improbable - but that's what the paper said, and I believe everything I read in the papers :-) So from now on I'll get up at 5 A.M. in summer and fill up while the gas hasn't yet warmed up.
