Lucius,

I have 4 active computers (one P200MMX, two P100, and a P120 portable) in my home office. I've got to be the easiest sell in the world when it comes to buying a new computer, so if Intel can't sell me they are going to have a lot of trouble getting owners of P133 and faster computers to upgrade to their current offerings.

I do not think you are the typical computer buyer. In fact, it sounds like you might fall in the "early adopter" customer catagory.

On the old bell curve, you are probably way off to the right, near the less than 5% of all computer owners who are also early adopters.

I repeat, the majority of computer owners are still on 486 or below equipment and to them, the current crop of products and 1998's crop have a lot of bells and whistles that many of us would like to have but have avoided for a long time. Time is about up for many as that $2000 price tag for new techology will undoubtedly prove irresistable for millions and millions.

BTW, I agree with Barry W.'s analysis of the PE issue. It is earnings growth that moved the price. That and the expectation of future earnings growth. All the rest is noise.

Barry
