I was interested in SunPower panels mostly because their claim of 17-18% efficency - the highest I have seen for mono-crystal panels. Sure, some space applications with triple junction processes are up near 35%, but those apparently are not in mass production enought to make them somewhat cost effective (or rather less costly).

The local company I worked with did offer other manufactures panels, but I was interested in SunPower's. They only quoted me on those. I did end up getting a SunPower inverter as well: SPR-5200

IMO, SunPower has a pretty good warrantee: 30 yrs for the panels, 10 yrs for the inverter.

I have only had my system on for 6 weeks so not much to report other than I saved 40% on the first bill I got that included my system. I generated 214 Kw-hr during the 35 day billing cycle. On a good day, this time of yr. it looks like I can generate 10-12 Kw-hr total. That should improve as days get longer. I have not seen the total power output anywhere near the rated output (5200W), but then I am not home during the day - except on wkends. I guess I should look and verify that on a full sun day, it is working at it's peak output.
