Re Tony Snow and Statesmen: Let us send all our good thoughts to Tony Snow with that in mind....

We talk sometimes of Statesmen... and wonder who and where they are. One definition is: "a man* who is a respected leader in national or international affairs "

*or woman

Leadership...We had no doubt about George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln...Ronald Reagan had that quality. Margaret Thatcher does have it. Tony Blair has it, even if I don't agree much with him politically. Golda Maier had it.

There must be SOMEONE in the Senate and the House that should have this title, but I can't think right now who it would be.

In the Administration....While I greatly admire Bush for what he has accomplished, and Cheney too, who has been under great opposition, Condi has done more than we presently are aware of, but none of them would fit my definition of true Statesmen...

I think Tony Snow is a man who has every potential to being a Statesman...he could be President of the US, given some time.
