RNO announces earnings tomorrow after the close.

I'm not sure how you play earnings announcements.

A lot of people like to sell 1/4, 1/3 or more of their position prior to earnings in order to manage risk.

If price sells off, one can always buy back at a lower price.

If price gaps up, one can always apply the gap rules explained in my message header, and often times buy at a better price, by paying up, than the loss that sometimes accompanies a "sell the news" event.

Again, it's all about managing risk.

Professional traders look forward, so a good earnings announcement isn't enough to help a trend. It takes better than expected news.

Just some ideas to share, not necessarily directed towards you. I linked your message because you asked about RNO and I noticed they announce tomorrow, so I wanted to remind the board different ways of playing earnings announcements.
