I'm not sure how you get from the article you posted to the fact that the far left is in control of many aspects of this country. If you think that article supports that, you are mistaken. If you note the sentence bolded by yourself you will see what he thinks of the Democratic party.
I see much sound and fury from folks on the right about what the left "believes", and yet, it's mostly crazy talk. I see folks taking what idiots from ANSWER do, and saying that their beliefs are commonly held. I see an article like this, about an obvious nutcase, and you think this type of ideology is in control of "many aspects of the country". This kind of insanity goes on on both sides, but that doesn't make it less out of touch with reality. I figure this kind of fantasy stems from hate- both of the extremes hate the other side so much they really want to believe the worst. All conservatives are no more able to be tarred with the Coulter brush, or the Dittohead brush, than all lefties should be tarred by ANSWER, and luckily the only extremists who had real power (the neocons) have been throughly discredited and are on their way out. While extremist leftist policies could replace them, they certainly haven't yet, not that you would be able to recognize moderation if it hit you in the face. To the extremist, the moderate looks like a zealot, because the view is always positional. |
