Powerful insight, John....I think we all *know* it, but we usually don't let go.... I love the stories you tell us about you and your wife.... You both must have a good deal of courage....
There's a fine line between "giving up" and "peace".....
Even with some of the serious illnesses I've had, I don't know that I've ever been afraid for myself...but I have been afraid for my family.
I am even more fearful now ,for my family and people I care about, with the threat of a group of people who either wish to nuke the world's peoples, or wish to take us back to the 7th century in ever respect. I am fearful of the people who don't see the threat, and in fact, aid and abet the 7th century advocates.
I think every day of the sign I saw a few weeks ago, "Courage is a step ahead of fear".... and will mull over in my mind, this old, but new, AhHa....
