Interesting that you have a corn allergy.

My wife's niece had no dietary problems until she was in college Once there, she developed all sorts of digestive ailments.

Ultimately, it was determined she has celiac spru. It's a food allergy that involves wheat and wheat products. Once she adjusted her diet to eliminate these things (pretty difficult to do, btw), her condition normalized.

she can eat food made with rice flour, but no wheat or gluten products.

Apparently, the problem is more widespread than originally thought.
