CUU would have 25% ownership and would receive huge profit
assuming decent metals prices, as this would be about a 50,000T/da operation, a real biggie mine.

But Teck would not likely want to be at the table with little CUU long term on this (perhaps 50 yr mine life) project.

So would need to pay what the holders would accept, to own it all.

This back-in is not a negative, Teck is needed to finance and
operate. CUU is providing its expertise in efficiently bringing
the deposit through fease. And Teck can make it happen from there.

When Teck gave this option around 2001 the deposit had zero value at 60 copper,
so CUU was nervy and agressive in even making the deal.
(It was tough raising cash at first, I got it the 20 PP initially).
And deserving of the benefit they are now just beginning to receive.

We have a ways to go yet, or CUU would be much higher IMO.

ckg.v - got some starter shares today ... Claude will eventually be proven right on Chesapeake, and i need to move to longer term holds before going away ... had to pay up some, wasn't having much luck bidding

bmc.v - a takeout by Sally Malay is so logical, isn't it ... the Junk brothers will have a lot of input into whatever happens, they're big holders of Brilliant, started the whole Kambalda camp, live there and are involved on a daily basis ... they do have a history of moving on, so this could be their exit strategy, who knows, if so we'll do well ... i bought back a little of my bmc, wife still has hers, told her we'd sell it to freebies at 2.50ish, actually i think something beyond that ... but this week i must figure fni.to for better near-term gains, because that's what i bought ... both winners imho

dib.v - had some and sacrificed them when Metalline had the big buy opp ... still watching, as part of the whole basket of mexisilvers, actually was about to get more one day and Genco appealed more for some reason, that worked out

lth.v - i follow Lithic, got a small position, was just going to add when i started getting interested in wkm.v ... don't want to get any more overweight in zinc at this point, lth does have a moly component but i don't know what it amounts to

goz.v - hslatt, new all time high ... lol, wasn't watching ... now i'll have to contend with an uppity nouveau rich wife, she's in it heavy

if the other company paid whatever to CUU ...
could CUU still do their own production and therefore
realize that gold ...

No, if Teck buys back in on the project, they will be partners on whatever comes out of the Schaft Creek project. It would be very nice for CUU to have a major like Teck as a partner, though Teck will likely try to buy CUU out instead, IMO.

Explor increases landholdings at Carnegie in Ontario
Symbol EXS
Shares Issued 12,769,152

2007-03-26 13:30 PT - News Release

Mr. Christian Dupont reports

EXPLOR INCREASES CARNEGIE LAND POSITION

Explor Resources Inc. has acquired eight additional mineral claims in addition to the 28 units already owned and situated in Carnegie township in the Porcupine mining division, district of Cochrane, province of Ontario.

Explor Resources will issue 100,000 common shares for an option to acquire a 100-per-cent interest in the eight units in Carnegie township. The optionees have retained a 2-per-cent net smelter return (NSR) in the property. This acquisition is subject to regulatory approval.

The additional Carnegie claims are located in the southern part of Carnegie township approximately 1.5 kilometres north of the Kidd Creek mine site. The property is approximately 20 kilometres north of the city of Timmins, Ont., and contiguous to the Carnegie property. Excellent access is provided by Highway 655. The property is approximately 0.5 km off the highway. The additional eight-unit mineral claims are strategically located and cover an area of approximately 128 hectares. This will increase Explor's land position to 576 hectares in the area. The most obvious topographical feature in the area is the Kidd Creek open pit approximately one kilometre to the south of the property boundary as well as a series of sand eskers.

could we find a *gold* stock that looks cheap?

I think Roxmark is probably the cheapest gold stock out there, considering they have the permitted mill, the 6 formerly producing gold mines, and the moly for additional revenue. I don't think it will stay this cheap for very long, though, with TSXV listing coming in the next few weeks.

EPM is another cheap gold stock, though there's the perceived political risk of Kazakhstan. It should be much higher later this year when they go to production.

CUU is one of the cheapest gold stocks out there, too, with 8.6 million ounces, though Teck's buyin option could reduce that significantly. Even if Teck buys in the max, CUU still has 2 million ounces for their portion, a huge amount of copper, a large amount of moly, and would be paid 4x their expenditures plus have financing arranged by Teck.

Here goes...

WRS for gold. This is close to where I live.Looks like excellent recoveries for the gold.A big enough project.
A j/v partner that might buy them out.Fair ease of all the good stuff roads ,power, workers, goods etc.

NI/NWI....coming back strong.Same pattern as most other splits.

LGO Great moly/tung project and a interesting PGM play in Brazil.

BTC Resting after a good run. Another PGM play right on strike with MAR. Also has a nickel play j/v with Teck that might turn some heads.

LYM/ETF and its j/v with Teck, real sleeper no promo.tyke follows this a lot as well.Low trade volumes so patience needed to grab shares cheap.

RNG.wt Not to late for these.Nor FNI. The boys have these nailed.

A brief note as a former owner of INM. They are part of the "International Northair Group of Companies" . They were agonizingly slow doing work in the past, 04-06 and one must realize that they manage the work of the company as well as the company's position within the "Group". Some good track records but I have left , same for Hunter Dickenson, Grosso Group, Lang Mining etc.

Does not mean you can't win with them, just that they are different animals than pure single company plays.

Things not looking good for western mining companies in Kyrgyzstan

Earlier this month, London-based Oxus Gold (LSE: OXS)

Meanwhile Centerra Gold (TSX:CG) has sustained disruptions in production due to disputes with the Kyrgyz Government. Last week members of the Kyrgyz Republic Parliament began questioning the legitimacy of Centerra's Kumtor gold mine, the largest gold mine in Central Asia operated by a Western mining company. Some legislators suggested that changing the deal might help resolve the country's external debt problem. Centerra is owned 53% by Cameco Corporation (TSX: CCO) (NYSE: CCJ).

GoldQuest Mining Corp. (GQC: TSX-V) is focused on gold exploration in the Dominican Republic. The Company has strategic associations with Gold Fields Ltd and Barrick Gold Corporation, which are major shareholders of the Company. GoldQuest has an excellent land position around Barrick's Pueblo Viejo gold deposit.
