It will always have a place in my heart just for that one reason alone, curing me- but we were lucky enough to live in Inverness, and a more charming place I've never been. I loved Nairn, and Tain, and Ullapool too. And driving through the highlands was such a wonderful experience. It is a place of rare beauty. It was a really special time for our family. My kids took horseback riding lessons on the Black Isle. And we ate often at Castle Tulloch. Our movie theatre had a ghost (the green lady), and we used to walk small parts of the Great Glen trail. I am not sorry I missed the winter though :-) Right after we left an ice storm knocked out power all over Scotland- and our house was completely heated by little radiators in each room (electric). And our washing machine was possessed by Satan.
