Keep in mind, neutralizing acid stops the digestive process and stops the assimilation of vitamins and minerals. Years of anti-acids will be a slow kill as you gradually starve to death that is a very good point, shootie.... when i was prescribed prevacid i took it for several months, during which time i found out that studies were just now coming out that indicate that there are signs of accelerated aging (due to poor assimilation, i'm sure)....so i quit taking it.....fortunately i have only had a couple of 'bouts' since.....and after reading your suggestion on the betain HCL, i picked some up at the health food store yesterday.
