Well crap.

Any comments on the logic of this deal? I'm familiar with the technology (ok, one of their machines is maybe 50 feet from my office), and don't see a clear advantage to the SLXA approach. Did ILMN vastly overpay for SLXA? Is this what you get for a cash deal vs equity? Is CRGN so desperate for liquidity, that this was the best deal they could get? I'd think they would have one or two other potential suitors, though the existing close relationship with Roche could be a major roadblock.

I thought that this was a case where having a good understanding of the science and where the genomics field is moving might have given me an edge in my investments. So much for that!
