I wasn't trying to change the topic. Just that your statement is at variance with reality. Sure, you can claim that the Democrats would use partisanship to pillory a Republican president. But the fact of the matter is they have. Never. Done. It. OTOH, the Republicans have. Twice.

So based on the evidence, the Republicans are a lot less likely to rise above petty politics and the politics of personal destruction. You can make whatever claims you want, but that is reality. The rest is just truthiness.
