am considering getting my FDN model graphics puterized, so I haven't rushed into updating the things, hopefully by this weekend.

I started to play around with Microsoft Paint in this respect. It does almost all the basics that I need it to, but has trouble getting things scaled for printing, and the biggest thing is it doesn't have layers for separating like elements into, e.g. all the text in one layer, geology in another, etc.

I am considering downloading this freeware as a potential fix for the above mentioned gripes about Paint:

getpaint.net
Paint.NET

This is tied into Microsofts .NET initiative, which one must also load to use Paint.NET. Anyone have any experience with .NET and or Paint.NET, pros/cons?

Ideally I would just like to dump ARU's assay data into a geo/engineering program like Micromine or Gemcom and then do really whiz bang things. Alas, they are budget breakers.
