"I'd like to die in my sleep"
two situations. my mother in law(galway ireland), the neighbors would check for smoke coming out of the chimney each morning to see she was ok. One morning no smoke they go over there find her in bed lying comfortable with rosary in her hand.
My cousin pei ca. we get a letter from her , got one maybe once every five years or so. It was addressed to my wife, telling her how much her presents, and dealing with sickness all these years gave her such strength, (cousin had 18 children, that's a lot of strength.)g each morning she would prepare breakfast for themselves,(both in 80's now and kids all gone), get the plates out , food cooked etc and then call her husband to the kitchen table. This one morning he is eating and noticed she hadn't sat down to eat, noticed open kitchen cabinet door. He went down to the bedroom to see if everything ok. found her lying in bed with the rosary in her hand.
the day we are reading the letter from her we get a call that she passed away. do you think some people know ahead of time , contact those they feel they should. her daughter told me a few weeks later her mother sat down and wrote off about twenty letters to friends a few days before she passed away. A woman who seldom ever had time to sit down, never mind write letters.
yes, i would love to go in my sleep. |
