You know what I don't understand. On Anderson Cooper the other nite, there was an interview with an Iranian taxicab driver. He complained mightily about the gov't's raising tensions with the West over nukes and the poor quality of the economy. Some of his friends and relatives joined in as well. Later, on AC, they showed this Chinese guy sitting in his house protesting a development project planned for the site where his house is. Everything has been torned down and they have excavated all the land around the house so that it sits like an island. Its become this big cause celebre in the city of Chungking.

China is supposed to be a dictatorship.......Iran somewhere between a democracy and a dictatorship. Given those scenarios, I don't understand why the gov'ts in question allow this kind of stuff......and why they don't prevent the West from seeing it? And why aren't the people protesting afraid? Any thoughts?
