However, I would disagree with this post.
The political reality of many action-oriented in the United States of America is right-wing, republican, evangelical, etc.
But, most are attending to making a buck, regardless of consequences. One of the most enlightening studies I've made in the last decade has been our financial system. One would do a dis-service to any polical theory to leave out the Fed, the machinations of international banks (banksters) and the corporate imperative to gain performance (for stockholders? - no, they are the smoke-screen).
To think that the religious-right is actually controlling anything is to ignore human greed. And, greed is an unbelievable power. Much more so than I would have ever thought pre-911. So much for ideals.
The truth is that the religious-right is cover. Cover for the theft of every dollar you spend - right down to your effort to get up in the morning - having slept well due to some pharma winner.
It's the money.
It is always the money.
And, I would add, smoke-screens...
