Just such a damn shame too as the provocation is there but there seems to be no willingness on the part of Iran to compromise much less talk to the British.

What about the Geneva Convention and the rules against displaying pictures of captured soldiers? Iran has clearly violated them. Which raises the question - is there an agreed upon penalty? If you break the Geneva Conventions, what is supposed to happen to you?

At the very least the UK should announce that as a result of Iran breaking the Geneva Conventions with respect to the captured soldiers, they no longer feel obligated to extend the provisions of the GV to Iranian military.
