But if Iran is going to throw out the GC when they capture Brits, they should be made aware they forfeit any claim to the same benefits for their own military. How the Iranians are actually treated is another matter, up to the Brits. Hopefully there won't even be a confrontation so it will be a non-issue, but there should be some penalty for the Iranian disregard for the GC. Silence aint it.

Silence is definitely not golden in this case. I would add that if you examine the behavior of Iran and Hizbullah (a kind of wholy-owned subsidiary of the Iranian government) over the past 30 years, you will see a long pattern snatching hostages as bargaining chips and executing terrorist attacks, with very little price paid for it. Certainly no price high enough to make the regime have second thoughts about the worth of the tactic.
