You don;t realize until you have something happen how out of control it all is. We just got the hospital bill from my husband's ONE night last week. The room wasn't bad, but the tests and extras were insane. The CT scan alone was 2700. And I am sure we will get all kinds of separate doctor and technician bills. My son only went to the ER at Cedars Sinai in LA and it was horrifying. His surgery, which was done in an outpatient clinic the next day, cost several thousand. Of course, the doctor repairing his hand was a big deal Bev Hills cosmetic surgeon. His finger hasn't a wrinkle in it.
